The four sons of Mrs. F. G. Clarke, of Ivy House, North Lopham, are serving with the forces. We give their photos, vis.: - (1) Private W. J. Clarke, motor fitter, Guard’s Division, British Expeditionary Force; (2) Lance-Corporal Friday L. Clarke, 1st Norfolks, British Expeditionary Force; (3) Private Bertie V. Clarke, Northumberland Fusiliers, British Expeditionary Force; (4) Frank S. Clarke, Signal man in the Royal Navy.

Frank Stanley CLARKE, son of Frederick George CLARKE (1864-1912) and Barbara Constance MUSK (1866-1940), was born on 8 February 1894 in Blo Norton, Norfolk. He was baptised on 11 June 1894 in Blo Norton - parents Frederick George and Barbara Constance.Frank joined the Royal Navy as a boy, service number J9211. He served on several ships including HMS London, 30 Aug 1911 to 13 May 1912, HMS Hibernia, 14 May 1912 to 30 Jul 1913, and HMS Diligence, 10 Dec 1918 to 21 Feb 1919. The last know service date is 11 June 1919, presumably when Frank left the Navy. Frank died circa 1972.
